Friday Night Lights

If you are a fan of television, and haven't already seen it by this point, stop reading and go buy Friday Night Lights Season 1 and watch it.

The last show Patton Oswalt pushed on me was "The Wire," which might be my favorite TV show ever. This year, he urged me to check out "Friday Night Lights." I blasted through all 22 episodes over a Thanksgiving weekend marathon and holy shit was it good. I can only really compare it to "The Wire," in the way you are gripped by the hardships of so many different characters. Seriously, invest some time and check out this show.

Also, like "The Wire," there are some humorous moments as well. Case in point - my favorite character - BUDDY GARRITY! "Friday Night Lights" fans - enjoy this YouTube gem!

NYMag's New York Diet

I did NYMag's New York Diet this week. I basically wrote about what I ate for a week.

My favorite meal of the week was actually on Saturday at this restaurant Smith's. I guess it didn't make it in for space or because I was only supposed to keep track of meals starting on Sunday, but here's that recap, just because the food there is so great.

SATURDAY
On Saturday, I woke up late and skipped lunch and decided I would really try to blow it out for dinner. I wanted to try somewhere new and ventured to Smith's in the West Village. I went with my date Kristen and soon after the meal, I realized I was in love - with Smith's!!! It was fucking awesome! We started off splitting the artichoke pasta appetizer. For the main's, we split a cod with black pepper tagliolini and a grilled lobster with butternut squash puree. They were outstanding. Our two sides were the polenta and the cauliflower with cheese. Also great. It was all ridiculously tasty, well done Smith's, I will see you again soon. (Kristen's company was also pretty good).

Downtown Clay Davis on Human Giant!

Paul and I lost it on Monday when Isiah Whitlock aka Clay Davis from "The Wire" was gracious enough to play a small part in Season 2 of Human Giant. Isiah was awesome and said he was psyched for Season 5 of "The Wire." And no, we didn't make him say "sheeeeeeee-it."

Radiohead.TV Look Out!

Sure, everyone's all psyched for the awesome clips on Radiohead.tv, but this gentlemen is giving Thom and Co. a run for his money with his self-made video for "15 Step." Well done.

Radiohead.tv really does have some really sick stuff on it though. These guys are putting everyone else in the game to shame. Hey MTV, please give Radihoead 24 hours to do more weird shit like this! (And maybe toss in an episode of Human Giant or two). Here are some favorites of mine - 2 awesomely bizarre awesome videos for "15 Step" and "Jigsaw," and 2 great covers of a New Order and Smiths tune. Hopefully they'll keep this up for a bit?
