FABRICES PIECES - VOLUME 4 Oh Hello. After I allowed Aziz Aziz to rudely interrupt my reign as the king of Azizisbearded.com, I am back and I am full of Raven (Rage). For those of you who didn't go, Crash Test was amazing last night. Aziz Aziz was able to track down Paul Scheer's telephone when he called him onstage... During the show! It was amazing! Paul had left the phone in a cab! Anywoozles, I spent my Memorial Day Weekend driving around town in my brand new Raven Rover aka the Range Raven... OOOOHHHHH... Its a beautiful, courageous car and it can play videos. This is the video that I played in the car to the delight of all around me: 5.28.2006
Crash Test Presents... BBQ TEST! Its Memorial Day and instead of BBQing at home, participate in Paul Scheer and Aziz Ansari's BBQ BATTLE this Monday at Crash Test! Tonight, Paul Scheer and I will be judging 3 chefs as they bring their best to the UCB stage. Email us ASAP if you want to enter, only 3 contestants will be accepted. Contestants are required to cook: 1) Appetizer (which can be prepared beforehand) 2) Main course (cooked on stage using theatre friendly cookware - think Foreman grill or similar indoor cooking gear) 3) Dessert (anything goes) The judges will be Paul, Aziz, and 3 randomly selected audience members. Paul and Aziz will chip in $10 to each contestant, and the competitors must be able to bring their cookware, etc. To be considered, email aziz AT azizisbored.com with the subject "BBQ BATTLE" and list what you plan on cooking and any cooking credentials. We will also be welcoming comedians.. Eugene Mirman Nick Kroll and Jerry Minor 11:10 PM-Permalink 5.25.2006
FABRICE'S PIECES - VOLUME 3 Guest Blogger - Fabrice Fabrice I'm currently relaxing on my shark-skin futon, eating honey roasted cashews and enjoying my 2nd favorite program on television; Entertainers with Byron Allen. On this show, Mr. Byron Allen asks America's most talented people very hard hitting questions about their upcoming projects. This show is sooo Raven! Oh! Oh! Oh! I have just come up with a quiz!!! Entertainers with Byron Allen + Aziz Aziz + Honey Roasted Cashews = ????????? You tell me!! The winner gets a signed picture of Raven Symone autographed by me, Fabrice Fabrice! 1:55 AM-Permalink 5.24.2006
FABRICE'S PIECES - VOLUME 2 Oh hello friends of Aziz Aziz. Its me, guest blogger Fabrice Fabrice and I am a handsome person! Crash Test Update Not sure what I'm doing as far as hosting with Rob and/or Paul, but here's the updated lineup - God's Pottery, Sean Conroy, and Demetri Martin. 1:19 PM-Permalink UPDATE: My guest blogger chimed in quicker than expected, ladies and gentlemen meet your guest blogger... FABRICE FABRICE! FABRICE'S PIECES - VOLUME 1 Guest Blogging from FABRICE FABRICE ![]() Oh, hello innernet. Its me Fabrice Fabrice. I'm a close and personal friend of Aziz Aziz. Aziz Aziz has asked me (Fabrice Fabrice) to write something to y'all on the innernet. A little backtalk on me: I am currently the director of craft service coordination on the four-time Oscar winning program "That is So Raven" (TISR). For those of you so fat and stupid not to know, craft services provides all the delicious snacks and tiny waters that your favorite celebrities eat on-set. And this set is no different! Because I get to craft service none other than Raven Symone, who was the adorable lil' girl on the Cosby Program. ![]() but has since grown up to become a big fat STAR!!! ![]() OOOOOOOHH!!!! That photo is SO RAVEN!!! Anywoozles, in my free time I also do Craft Services for my good friend Aziz Aziz. Do you wanna know what kinda food Fabrice Fabrice prepares for Aziz Aziz? OF COURSE YOU DO!!! Today I prepared a gumbo for him. ![]() That is so CAJUN!!!! 1:37 AM-Permalink Guest Blogging While I'm Away... I'm gonna be kind of busy over the next week or so, and I don't think I'm gonna be able to post much. In lieu of this, I have a very special guest blogger that will be chiming in in my absence. I'll still drop in with a post when I can, but this guest will take up the slack. I'm not gonna say who it is, since I think its best left as a surprise. Who's psyched for the "24" finale tonight? To be honest, I think it kind of petered out last week, but I could be wrong. I'm still curious who those mysterious white dudes are (you know who I'm talking about), especially the main bald one with the big ear piece. "Lost" is gonna be nuts though, last week's ep may have been my favorite "Lost" ever. Well done "Lost" crew. Crash Test tonight - Huebel had to bail, but Sean Conroy, God's Pottery, and probably one other guest will be there. 1:23 AM-Permalink 5.19.2006

MIND EXPLOSION Courtesy of Thom Yorke and Papa Cristo My mind exploded today because of two people. 1) Papa Cristo: ![]() This man is responsible for what was possibly the best meal I had in my stay in LA. Woliner and I hit this place up for dinner today and it did not disappoint. Hands down the best gyro I've EVER had. The spanikopita (spinach pie) was incredible. Actual quote from Woliner after eating the melomakarana (honey cookies) - "this is the most delicious thing I've ever put in my mouth." Anyway, we had a word with Cristo afterwards, and told him good job. And how can you not be a fan of any guy that welcomes you with open arms like that? I'm already psyched to hit up Cristo's Thursday dinner special and try those lamb chops when I come back. Say what you want about LA, but as I discovered this trip, the eats are top notch. 2) Thom Yorke: ![]() So this is insane. Thom York just announced on w.a.s.t.e. that he's made a solo album called The Eraser that will BE OUT IN JULY!! Are you shitting me? Wow. I can't believe it. Go to AtEase if you don't believe me. 7:59 AM-Permalink 5.11.2006
Last Minute LA To Do's? ![]() Here's a quick rundown of my favorite things in LA, they generally involve food. Is there any thing I need to check out before I head back to NY on Sunday? - Waffle Brownie Sundae at 101 Coffee Shop on Franklin (One of the best desserts I've ever had, the macaroni here is great too...) - Peanut Butter Banana Shake at Swingers Diner (I've had like 10 of these.) - Lalas on Melrose (Amazing Argentinian steak, yumm...) - Brunch at The Griddle on Sunset (Imagination Scramble, oh my...) - French Dip at Phillippe (Best I've ever had! Unreal! Banana Cream Pie was great too.) - Bombay Cafe (Stop laughing! I don't usually like Indian food from restaurants, but this place is solid.) - Mango Lemonade from Trader Joe's (No line either...) - Goat Cheese Fondue at Luna Park (The apples, the bread, mmmm.....) - Club Spaceland in Silverlake (Where I saw Destroyer...) - Arclight Theatres (Can't beat the Cinerama Dome...) - Amoeba Music (No better way to waste time...) - In n' Out (So obvious, I almost didn't put it in...) Some places I'm trying to go to before I leave: - Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles (Woliner says its great...) - Cactus Taqueria (I'm a carne asada fiend, but I've been let down here in the past, Snack Dragon I miss you!) - Papa Cristo's (Greek food, mmmm....) 9:00 PM-Permalink Go watch "TINY HANDS" NOW!! ![]() Jon Glaser is a comedy hero to us all. You may recognize him from his bits on Conan and occasional live appearances with Jon Benjamin, but I'm always yearning for more Glaser genius. He recently made some shorts for Comedy Central based on his "Tiny Hands" character that are hilarious. David Cross and Nick Swardson pop up in this one. Stop what you are doing and check it out now! Click here for "Tiny Hands"! 5:00 PM-Permalink 5.10.2006
Destroyer ![]() For the past few months, I've been meaning to post some mp3s from Destroyer, but I always get lazy. I finally caught him (them?) last night at Club Spaceland in LA, and it was great. Rubies is probably my favorite album of the year so far. I'm also pretty sure Jason and I are the only people in the world who've seen both Destroyer and R. Kelly live in the same week. Rock Insider has a couple of great mp3s. Go check em' out, but really just go grab the album, its unbelievable. 7:51 PM-Permalink 5.08.2006
R. Kelly Update... Sorry for the late update - but for those wondering - Jason Woliner and I did indeed get into the R. Kelly concert and catch "Mr. Showbiz" himself live in concert at the Gibson Amphitheatre on Saturday. It was surreal to say the least. Our night began with us picking up Drevon, the midget from "Trapped," and ended after several R. Kelly afterparties. We had our doubts, but "Big Man" came through, getting us backstage and even introducing us to the man himself. It was ridiculous. When I get more time, I'll try to write up some highlights, but for now - I'm just gonna tell the whole, insane story when I get back to NY for Crash Test on the 15th, and I think Jason is going to try to edit a video together (he snagged a few short clips of Drevon and I as well as Kells' live show.) I will say this though - R. Kelly aka "Mr. Showbiz" is flat out incredible live. I can only compare it to seeing a one man, black version of Radiohead. 3:30 AM-Permalink 5.06.2006
Radiohead, R. Kelly... I recently found out R. Kelly is doing a show tonight in LA. Tickets are sold out, but in one hour, Human Giant director Jason Woliner and I are going to pick up Drevon (aka "Big Man" the little person from "Trapped"), and he claims he can get us in. I have no clue whats going to happen, but I'm sure it'll be very interesting... I somehow snagged tickets for Radiohead at the Theatre at MSG. Can't wait to hear the new stuff. I'm also performing at Bonnaroo in the Comedy Tent, so I'll get to see them there too. I Guess I'm Floating posted mp3s of 3 new tracks being performed live. 7:42 PM-Permalink 5.05.2006
FUCK EUGENE MIRMAN. ![]() Are you sick and tired of Eugene Mirman? Are you really pissed off about his new album En Garde, Society! which is going to be released May 9th on Sub Pop records? Would you rather have your arm permanently covered in rotten caramel than pre-order that album on Sub-Pop? ![]() Then you need to PROTEST AGAINST HIM. The Onion has organized a protest against Eugene in NYC at Union Square on May 8th at 7 p.m. I will still be in LA and will be unable to attend. Click here for more info on protests in other cities, Eugene's upcoming tour (so you can go break and burn those Sub Pop CDs in front of his face!), and more. 4:28 PM-Permalink |
