Hand is better, but its still a nuisance to type for a long time. Here's some music bullet points (sorry if I seem like I'm biting One Louder's stee-lo.
- The much buzzed about Fiona Apple album that Sony won't release, Extraordinary Machine, has leaked in full. I like it thus far. My main man Jon Brion (the duder that did the soundtracks for "Eternal Sunshine," "Huckabees," Punchdrunk") is the producer. Get it while you can... My favorite track is "Red, Red, Red" - f'n dark, haunting shit. Awesome.
- Speaking of leaky leaks - finally got the retail of Guero by Beck. Mostly the same as the leak a few months ago, I like two of the new slower tracks a lot - "Farewell Ride" and "Broken Drum." The bonus track for Japan "Crap Hands" is also cool. Here's MP3s of all those --- GOTCHA AGAIN RIAA!!! I'm not that dumb. (Okay a few months back, I was...) I'll probably pickup this version of the release...
- The Shins at Webster Hall 4/23 and 4/24. Is there anyone on earth who doesn't agree with this statement --- "FUCK WEBSTER HALL!!!!!" I've never even walked in that dump and I know I hate it. I'll probably anyway, cause I love the Shins and I gotta see my homey Cass McCombs open up for them. Love me some Cass.
- Oh M.I.A... I love you. Great interview with my sweetheart Maya at Pitchfork. Her album drops 3/22 - cop it!! And if you still haven't see my standup routine about M.I.A. featuring Eugene Mirman as M.I.A. - check it. Some dude linked to it the other day and was flabbergasted at how I went "Do you guys know who M.I.A. is?" and the comedy hipsters at Rififi were all nodding.
- Albums in rotation - Andrew Bird, Cass McCombs, Animal Collective, Beck, Akron Family, M.I.A. (Piracy Funds Terrorism back in effect), Stevie Wonder (Talking Book, Innervisions), Led Zeppelin (III - haven't rocked it in years), Run the Road (this grime comp is SICK, grab it), How to Kill the DJ pt. 2 and the other Optimo shit, Nouvelle Vague (everybody I play this for goes ga-ga over it). Under St. Mark's on Friday!
Thanks to those who rolled out to "Invite Them Up" last night. It was a great show. I basically exhausted the Aziz Ansari fractured hand saga for every joke it had in it. I think it'll be a nice chunk in the one man show I'm working on. (Should be in April at UCB, I'm real fired up for it, 30-40 minutes of Aziz magic.)
